Evolving Road to Self Discovery

One of the most important things I have learnt in life is to stop and see things for how there are and process all information. Trust and listen to what life is trying to teach me.

People come and go through out your life as we all know, they brings different things to us at the right time. Then you have a handful of friends and family that are your people- the stayers.

Your people are your support and the core of who you are.

I love my people with all my heart, what lead me to this post is a number of things but it was inspired by my last post and it got me thinking.

• Each one of my people I have work with, lived with and socialised with at the same time and we never got sick of each other. Obviously lives change and we moved on but they are still my people.
• We see each other for who we really are; we see things in each that other people don’t see.
• We started a journey and we worked hard because we are all passionate people who don’t do it for the money we do it for the love, we are successful but money does not inspire us to succeed, happiness does.
• We see beyond, we understand that there is an art to everything in life and appreciate the work you have put into it.
• We always encourage each other in our chosen paths we do not be negative and say what if, we can’t, it won’t work. No way never.

If you have anyone in your life that doesn’t encourage you in the best ways possible, I have learnt that you must distance yourself from them because they will happily use your energy, your ideas, your data, your referrals, your friends and YOU. You will not get thanks or acknowledgment you barely get a look in eye or god forbid a smile. They will drain you of your life and you are too good for that.
Ask yourself has your relationship always been so one sided? Chances are it has and you’ve never realised it! You can only try so much, you can extend the olive branch so many times and they’ll take it but they won’t be one handed back to you.

Try this: Surround yourself with-

• People who work with you on your ideas and you will create something awesome.
• Inspire you and you inspire them
• They make you laugh out loud and you’re funnier around them
• They make you a better person
• You feel like you’re a better person for knowing them
• You are always there for each other
• You see how wonderful you both are and you aren’t afraid of telling them
• You both know that there is enough success in this world for everybody so you rejoice in each other success.

You see how happier you would be everyday just by surrounding yourself with awesome people.

Tell your people just how wonderful they are today.

Happy/Sad

11 years ago we started a journey, it was by chance that I was greeted by you on my first day and you showed me around the MS Imagination, our baby.

We moved to a new country and started a new life, a new job all on the same day, daunting but we were eager to work hard, make money and find ourselves. We did all three but we also found each other. For that I am grateful.

Two young girls we worked hard, partied hard and seen the world. Conquered our careers, trained by the best in the world and little did we know it would give us confidence, direction and an open door to any job we wanted in the industry, anywhere.

From the moment I meet you always said Australia would become your home, you wanted more then anything for this wonderful country to be yours and you’d never even been here, but you knew.

So 10 years later after you transformed many businesses into profitable sort after Day Spa’s in the most exotic locations, you came to Australia.

So excited for you because I know how much you want this and excited because I know I am a better person for having you in my life, you bring out the best in me and now you are close. You are my person, you motivate me, you say “I’m so proud of you, you’ve always wanted to own your own business and look at you you’re quite the entrepreneur” you get me and you are the air that I breathe, my core, my person.

But now you can’t say!

I am so so sad for you, I know this is your home and you love it and Australia would be a better place having you in it. You tried so hard and you nearly succeeded, it doesn’t seem fair. But we have to trust the process of life and I know that it will all work out. I know you will be back and it will be forever.

Salon de la Lingerie VS Fashion Exposed Lingerie Expo

This years Salon de la Lingerie Expo in Paris was a great success and the exhibitors as well as buyers were happier and more enthusiastic than last year!

This is the place to be for all lingerie professionals. This year over 22,000 visitors eagerly walked through the doors to see 580 exhibitors sharing 40,000 sqm space.

CurveNY New York Lingerie Expo will be sporting over 250 Brands and 4000 people have registered to attend. So despite the Recession our lingerie fashion capitals have done exceptionally well. This makes me incredibly happy and hopeful that Australia has oodles of room for growth.

My contacts who went to Paris said it was absolutely bustling and the buzz was amazing and NY is NY so we would not expect anything less.

Last weekend Australia hosted our 2010 Fashion Exposed, the lingerie sector sported around 50 exhibitors however the majority of those are under the same umbrella so it appears much much smaller. Personally I felt it lacked energy and had little impact because it was the same brands we see every year and I didn't see the boutique labels that usually pack the punch and rocks out the fashion. I was not overly excited about the Spring Summer 2010 lingerie collections that were shown by our bigger labels.

HOWEVER my pick for the season, the labels the I feel rocked it out are;

Daniel Hechter- These guys have a HOT collection with divine materials and superior quality. They are available in A to D Cups and 10 to 14, they are NEW NEW NEW to Australia and I pray she got orders because I know you guys will love it.

Underwear of Sweden- Had a great lay out and Champers :) They weren't there with hardcore sales people like the majority of others. But their collection has a clean and fresh feel to it, I really quite like it.

Cake Lingerie- Is Australia's own Maternity range that represents quality material that feels gorgeous and look even better.

Bra Review- Bendon DimitySO D to J Cups

ROSE BEAT
Cost- $79.95
Lift- 4/10
Separation-7/10
Quality- 3/10
Shape- 1/10
Material- 2/10
Appearance-5/10

Over All- 2/10

Bra Queen's Comments- SO off I go again to Review Bendon's NEW D to J Cup range, after my last experience I wasn't to eager to re-live the experience however I went open to everything. Visually they don't look too bad, they are an extremely small cut so you'll have to go up a band size AND a cup size. There is no give in the material so comfort factor is zero. Because there is no give the straps really dig in which is very uncomfortable and the shape is absolutely terrible, the bra is too shallow therefore it squashes your breasts so they look wide and flat like a big fat donut. The quality of the material wasn't that great is was quite scratchy, I would not recommend this bra.

RIBBON THIEF
Cost- $79.95
Lift- 3/10
Separation-7/10
Quality- 5/10
Shape- 1/10
Material- 5/10
Appearance-6/10

Over All- 3/10

Bra Queen's Comments- The material was much better quality then Rose Beat (even if a little sports bra-ish so it was slightly more comfortable. The straps are slightly wider so more comfy. The shape is again terrible, shallow cups, the cups are cut too straight across so they do not flatter your body shape. When you're fuller cups you need softer edges because there is so much breast :) Although slightly better then the previous I still would not recommend it, for the price you can do much better.

These images are models that are a D Cups bare in mind they do go up to a J Cup.

Kiss Me Deadly Lingerie

Once upon a time a woman went on a long search for a good suspender belt set … and ended up with a vintage inspired lingerie brand designed for femme fatales; glamorous, sensual and intelligent women with just a hint of danger.

Along came Kiss Me Deadly

I LOVE Kiss Me Deadly, why?

* She is so incredibly lovely and real, you know I love real.
* Catherine offers super sexy that is still so elegant and sophisticated. Not many Lingerie companies can get the right.
* She tells a story which I love, so we are able to go with her on a journey just by looking at her collection, image wearing it....
* She does not make or sell to a zillion Department Stores because it's more then just the sale; it's the experience, it's the fit,

It's the way you feel when you wear it.....

What do you think? You can check out her site www.kissmedeadly.co.uk Her size range is small; 10 to 14 (UK32 to 36), B to DD Cups however she explains why here

How to Beat the Blues When It's All Too Much!

What do you do when you don’t have Depression but you are starting to feel like the world is on your shoulders and things are getting on top of you.

How do you get yourself out?

With all the little things in life if you don’t allow your feelings to be and process them then they fester into something much bigger and it all gets too much and you crack, you feel yourself cracking, you know you’re close to the edge, so what do you do?

Do you reach out? Yes, of course but sometimes it isn’t as easy as that is it?

Sometimes you reach out and it’s taken the wrong way or they let their feelings get in they way of helping you and being there for you. People will always think of themselves and their own feelings first, it’s only natural. So as much as you say “This IS NOT about you” until your blue in the face they will still walk away thinking of themselves and thinking it IS them. Where does that leave you?

You reach out and in the end it’s still about others when for just once for a split second you wanted it to be about you, just so you can get validation and get it off your chest.

What do you do then?
Think about yourself and how you’re feeling, try to narrow the feeling down. Write it down, shake it out, breathe through it and move on. You need to validate it yourself, so sometimes you don’t have to address the person directly in order to move on.

Sometimes the people who you think will be there for you are often the ones that aren’t and vice versa the people who you think won’t be there for you often turn out to be the ones you begin to rely on. That’s the process of life and we have to trust it.

When a challenge comes your way; allow yourself to be mad, angry, frustrated or annoyed. Then ask yourself “What is life trying to teach me now, what lesson can I learn from this?”

In business you will always have the innovative thinkers, the doers and then you have the ones that will take your ideas, not think anything of it and not give reference to you. They don’t understand that joint ventures are a powerful thing if you work together you’ll have double the impact, not if I keep my cards close to my chest I’ll create possibility. But that’s OK because Entrepreneurs have so many ideas and we are not afraid to try them. So we will always be one step ahead….

Unless it has happened to someone then they can never really understand.

I remember when I was young we had a Christmas at our house Aunt’s, Uncle’s, Cousins and Granny (My Mum’s mum) and granny took all of her Grand kids out the front of our house and gave them all money for Christmas….. Except us!

My mum was most upset and it was the main topic of conversation for months, maybe even years. We said to Mum “Don’t worry about it because we don’t care” she would often respond with something like “I don’t care, she doesn’t care about me and I don’t care about her” But of course it did bother her.

I didn’t understand, until it happen to me.

Around 20 years later, seven Grand kids nearly eight. Everyone was at my house and although my Father was not there he sent all Grand kids a present except mine…

I understand now. I try to talk about it and the first thing I say is “I know it’s his loss, his choice, he made that decision” I KNOW that, but it still makes me feel crap.

Do know what everyone still says-
• It’s his loss, don’t let it get to you.

Not that easy, I know that but in that small part of your brain you wonder “Out of 5 kids why me, just one, what’s wrong with me?”

Nothing! His choice or his wife’s but that’s not the point, you have to be accountable. I was made to feel guilty in the last couple of years “Because he tries really hard with me, it’s my fault because I’m a bad daughter”

Maybe I am-
• Because I can’t pretend that you were never there,
• That you only cared when it suited you,
• You left when we needed you most and didn’t even talk about it.
• Sorry those yearly phone calls (if that) didn’t really cut it,
• That you only thought I looked good when I had an eating disorder,
• That my partner whom I love with ALL of my being “Is not good enough for me but good enough for my other sister” What the…. Idiot.
• That in 11 years you have probably called about 5 times (that’s trying really hard).
• When my first daughter was born she was not even acknowledged.
• Even when I have tried to put it behind and start a fresh, reach out you always manage to put me down and patronize me.

Because “Women in business never succeed!”

Some people think that’s funny and maybe it is just you, but I see past that persona for as funny as you maybe and all the guys think you are so funny and such a nice guy. They weren’t there to see what I saw, others maybe able forgive and I have forgiven you as well because I know it’s just you to be selfish and always take the easy way out and that’s OK because you don’t have “it” but your 4 in line does.

With that said I am done and that’s your choice. So I am not mad, angry and I don’t even hate you and from the bottom of my heart I wish you well. But I am done…

Everyone has a limit and I will not feel guilty for being true to myself, honestly and passionately. Those who love you for you will get that.

As soon as it starts to affect your day to day life you must break down your feelings into bit size chewable chucks, process it allow yourself to feel and think and move on.

Is there something that is troubling you, how do you get back on top of it?
