Day 20- Do You Love Your Life?
Something I always have to remind myself of and try to inject into my life is the fact that we live in one world.
Are you caught up in your own little world?
Are you open to allowing yourself and others to share your world?
As much as we drift through our lives at different speeds and the currents take us in different directions, it is still important to love unconditionally sometimes that's easy and sometimes it hurts. But for all it hurts at least I can say that by allowing myself to love, I allow myself to live honestly and passionately.
I do not pretend and I WILL NOT pretend! Only I can change my life and how I choose to view things and people.
For me I have to learn that I can't help people unless they are willing to help themselves and then I can only guide them and encourage them.
I have learnt alot during this Challenge and I hope you guys have too.
The most valuable thing I have learnt in 2009 is-
"BE HONEST WITH YOURSELF, MAKE THE NECESSARY CHANGES AND AMAZING THINGS WILL HAPPEN!"

Day 19- Love Your Life Challenge, Love Affair
Being the One to Find the One
6 Steps to Creating Your Love Affair!
Guest Post by Susan Tyshkovsky Whether you are single or in a relationship this is for everyone however if you're single GREAT ADVICE!

Have you ever wondered what it takes to find the love of your life?
Is it your dream to find a life partner who will cherish, love and adore you?
Love is a force more formidable than any other. It is invisible. It cannot be seen or measured. Yet it is powerful enough to transform you in a moment. And offers you more joy than any material possessions ever could. There may be no other word that is so loaded with meaning, emotion, opinion, fear, heartbreak, joy or ecstasy. Yet, in the human experience there is also nothing more important. We can have amazing children, a great job, healthy body, financial abundance and spirituality- and yet, without someone to share it all with, our lives have less meaning and fulfilment.
Experiencing a deep, profound love allows you to revolutionise every aspect of your life.
At Life by Creation we believe that in order to create and experience an extraordinary, tremendous, fulfilling relationship, you must first work on being the one- to find the one.
Creating the relationship that will transform your life may not just ‘happen’- but inside of you, right in this very moment, you do have the power to find, create, and reconnect with the love of a lifetime.
You have to overcome your fears, be more aware of who you are at your true core, and master the skills and disciplines that will transform your existing relationships-, your future relationships - and your entire life.
Step 1: Letting Go
Take a moment to think about a past relationship where you really, really hoped that they were the "one." It can be really digging deep into your past, or perhaps as early as this year. Ok- once you can get past the visuals and giggles of the old hairstyle you were sporting- and memories of that old flame... I'll bet you are now happy that your wishes for him to ‘be the one’ didn't come true. Sometimes we have to let go of what we think we want or need- in order to let the divine timing of the Universe work in our favour. Let’s face it; we can’t control anything in life except our own thoughts, feelings and emotions. Although I do admit- sometimes it would be nice to!
I have found that the key to letting go - is to trust that I can be clear about everything I want (love, happiness, fulfilment) without having to be obsessive about it. Let go of your need to be the boss of the Universe, let go of the past, and live in gratitude for the love and happiness that you have in your life right now, trusting that more is on the way.
Step 2: It’s about coming home
One of the best things about sharing your life with your soul mate is having a life filled with unconditional love. Soul mates are often each other's best friend and as such the relationship becomes a "place to come home to’ when life becomes difficult or stressful or scary. This "place to come home to" is both a physical place in your home as well as an emotional space in the relationship.
While you are in the process of becoming a magnet for love, create a physical space in your home right now that is your emotional ‘place to come home to’. It can be as simple as your favourite chair in the bedroom, relaxing in your bathtub or a new loveseat under a tree in your backyard. Use this space on a daily basis to focus your attention on your intention for attracting your ‘Love Affair’ to you.
On the emotional side, have a think about whether you are ready to create this space for your Love Affair to happen right now. Remember, the process of manifesting a soul mate is one of making space for him on all levels of your being and in all areas of your life.
Step 3: We get what we focus on
Do you know that more people put more time and energy into planning their next holiday than they do planning their life? Think about the last time you researched your holiday or recent travels. Chances are, you probably knew before you went to the Travel Agent that you wanted the holiday to be tropical, or adventure filled, or Cultural with sightseeing, right? And, you may even have had a budget in mind. And, I'll bet that once you spent some time searching for that particular type of holiday- that you eventually found the perfect destination.
You were able to manifest your holiday because you had a clear vision of what you were looking for. Manifesting a soul mate can be nearly as effortless if you first have a clear vision of what he or she will be like.
First begin with the physical traits and make a specific list that includes age range, height/weight range and appearance.
Next, begin to list the qualities of the personality that most appeals to you. Finally, and most importantly, add to this list descriptions of how you will feel in this relationship. Take a moment to close your eyes and imagine how you feel as you are walking through life with this special person. Do you feel love, cherished and adored? Do you feel connected, trusting, joyful and serene? Breathe into these feelings while visualizing your new life with your soul mate.
Step 4: Making way for the new
Ever notice that right after you spring clean your wardrobe you find yourself shopping for new clothes?
In order to attract your dream man- your Love Affair- you must create positive space in your life. It is now time to clear out the old relationships. Obviously if you are dating someone or in a relationship that's not working, it's time to cleanly and responsibly end it. For those of you who are single, look and see who you might be still be hooked on and find a way to move on. And, for those of you who are totally free and ready to commit BUT are still having casual sex with the neighbour, the ex-lover or whoever you meet out on a Sat night...it’s time to let that go as well. By focusing all of your energy - sexual and otherwise - on manifesting your ideal mate you will send the Universe a clear message that you are ready and there is nothing and no other 'body' standing in the way.
Step 5: Harnessing the Power of Masculine and Feminine Energy
I absolutely love the saying- Opposites attract. I use this saying with my clients at least 10 times a day!
In science, the attraction of opposites is called polarity. In human relationships, many types of polarity also exist- we are attracted to those things in people which are different to what we find in ourselves; they stimulate emotions and sensations that are different from the way we stimulate ourselves. In romantic intimacy, polarity refers to the play between opposite energies- the masculine and the feminine. They are responsible for sexual attraction and passion.
Do you have a role model for polarity in romance? Who is your ideal couple? The old saying "if I can see it I can believe it," is valid because for most people, as "seeing is believing." If there isn't a couple in your life that demonstrates the type of Love Affair you plan to have, then identify a couple you don't know to focus on. My favourite couple are Noah and Allie from the movie The Notebook. It’s a sentimental movie for me that really touches my heart and reminds me of what it was like growing up to witness my parent’s own Love Affair. Start to study successful partnerships and look for what you want in your Love Affair- don’t focus on what you don’t want. Start looking for couples to admire and learn from.
Step 6: Decide
Make the choice right now. Decide that you are ready, willing and available for your Love Affair.
Allow yourself to really "feel" what it feels like to be deeply loved and connected. Meditate on it. Curl up at night in bed for a few moments and notice the feelings of what it will be like to have your Love Affair. What will it look like, smell like, and feel like? What will you be telling yourself? Remember the unconscious mind doesn’t recognise the difference between what has really happened and what is made up- that is what the Law of Attraction is based on!
Know with every part of your being that the one that you are longing for is on the way to you right now. Be open to meeting and dating. Take the first steps and begin preparing your new life to include him in it! When you have cleared the clutter from your heart and mind, get over your reservations about being single and enquire about our exclusive Dinners with a Difference. If you don’t feel ready for that (yet!) give us a call at Life by Creation for some one of one relationship coaching! We only have one life!

Day 18- Love Your Life Challenge, Why it makes you angry!
Get out your “What made me angry list”

•Read over it and highlight things that are recurring.
•Sum up each point- The root of the problem or the cause.
Was it a pet peeve or was something that made you feel quite bad?
* Ask yourself why you think it made you feel that way?
* Why it caused you to have that reaction?
It maybe something that was drummed into you as a child, it maybe a fear or it reminds you of a feeling you had when you were younger and you didn't like feeling that way.
For example-
A pet peeve or a small annoyance for me is when my partner comes home and makes a subtle, maybe not so subtle remark about the house being untidy or whatever.
Please note- I have 2 kids under 3 and have without a doubt picked the same stuff up 500 times that day :)
Anyway!
Core Problem- The feeling of "It not being good enough"
Why does it annoy me?
In High School my Mum used to work and not get home until 6:30pm so it was my responsibility do get the clothes off the line, do the housework blah blah blah. If it wasn't done when my Mum came home she would be quite upset.
It made me feel like it wasn't good enough, not a major thing however years later I still get annoyed at him for making me feel that way.
Moving On- I now know where it comes from and why it annoys me so I can move on and I can tell Chris "It's no biggy but I don't like it when...."
Bigger Issues-
I HATE when people think or make me feel stupid. I know a lot of people would hate this however it makes me REALLY upset.
Why?
When I was 13 we had just moved to a new town. I had just started school I didn’t know anyone and was quite nervous.
I was in my Science class and the teacher asked me question which I didn’t know the answer to.
I told him I didn’t know (I had NEVER done a science class before they didn’t have it at my last school, not for Year 8)
He was laughing and then continued to forcefully explain the answer. I was so belittled and so embarrassed I wasn’t listening, I was just looking around the class room devastated because everyone was looking at me trying to tell me the answer but my head was spinning and I just couldn’t get any words out. Just wishing the ground would swallow me up!
After the class he called for me and said “I should have stopped but I was having to much fun, Sorry.” He says still laughing.
Then one of the boys in my Science class then told all of his friends “That new girl isn’t very bright”
That is why!
For years I had always hated when people made me feel stupid, I had no idea until I did this exercise and remembered that all of those years ago Mr. Murphy did that me.
You may think your “issue” comes from no where but I guarantee you it does! It may not come to you straight away but keep thinking it will!
Why are we doing this?
1.Once you understand where it stems from you can lay it to rest. For myself knowing and remembering Mr. Murphy I can say “It wasn’t me being stupid!
It was him intimidating and belittling me to a point of humiliation” That doesn’t make me stupid! I did what every kid would have done, it makes HIM stupid.
2.If it’s something recurring then we need an action plan to fix it. If it involves another person you need to sit down, work through and come to a consensus to remove the problem. Again, validate your feelings so you can eliminate them and move on.
I got so much out of this exercise, I hope you did too.
Was it easy for you to remember or difficult?

Day 17- Love Your Life Challenge, Finding Freedom
Tanya Guccione
I’m the girl who everyone said would achieve nothing!
I was the 16 year old girl, who never got invited to birthday parties,
I was the girl that boys said I was the ugliest girl in school.
I was struggling to fit in at school but then I had to go home to my home life that was a complete dysfunctional disaster!
I spent most of my time with my mum because my dad was never home and when he was it was far from fun times!
I couldn’t understand why this was happening to me. I hated school and home; the one place that was supposed to be safe was filled with chaos...
I felt trapped and the only way I knew how to deal with it was to keep myself busy with the things I loved, like painting and dancing it would help me forget even if it was for a short while the reality of my life.
It use to get so bad at home that many a times I didn’t want to wake up and face another day.
As I got older I not much changed only that I worked in a hairdressing salon as a receptionist. Then one day my boss suggested I do makeup so he could book weddings in his salon because I was creative that was perfect. Little did I know at the time this was going to soon become my passion.
My workplace I began to enjoy, but my home life was still turmoil.
One night so desperate I started to pray I said "God if you’re real, you need to show me and help change my situation because I cannot do this on my own"
Well the very next day my mum said to me "On Sunday we are going to try this funky church in Essendon. Apparently a lot of young people go there"
She knew I was struggling and it was her way of trying to help.
Obviously as an 18 year old my first reaction was to say NO but then I remembered the prayer I said the night before and I thought
"Gee! He must have listened and he certainly has a sense of humor”
As I went off to the "Funky Church" I would never have thought that 8 years later would still be going every Sunday! But now I go with my husband and 1 year old daughter.
In those 8 years my parents have separated and my dad ended up in jail and as many other trying times came my way, unlike before I knew what to do and I prayed "God I cannot do this on my own" so he pulled me out of that dark place, I think- he too knew I couldn’t do it on my own.
I felt like he didn’t magically appear or make my life all hunky dory but he gave me peace and greater understanding in that nothing material in this world would make me truly happy. Now I don’t look to things or people to make me happy or give me peace, I look to my manufacturer he knows me better than I know myself...
I love my job but I don’t look to it to bring me fulfillment, I love my husband with all my heart we've been married for 7 amazing years but he's only human, I absolutely love every part and cherish every second with my daughter and feel I can guide and protect her but she belongs to God.
So I guess what I’m trying to say is be careful what you put your faith in, I love my life because I’m truly free ....
Its not about the destination it’s about the journey... when I look back at my life I want to know I left behind a legacy.... you can do anything you put your mind to. Let me share something!
Myself and 3 other girls just raised $28,000 to build an orphanage in Kumi Uganda for 8 children and 2 widows I sold all my art work to raise funds, I am part of a team called Y-GAP which build safe homes for child trafficking and sex slaves in India. For me the more I focus out and realize its about more than just me in my little cotton ball world the more God builds me up on the inside and again helps me stay focused on what’s really important!
If your definition of achievement is-
• A high paid job,
• Fancy car,
• Having a wealthy husband
• A beautiful home and
• Lots of property
Then I am not successful! But one thing I know is the creator of the universe was looking after me when he plucked me out of the most insane circumstances and has blessed me with far more than I could ever imagine...
This is just a small fraction of my story what’s made me and what’s worked for me.
I know this may not be for everyone but one thing I know for certain is that God did reveal himself to me those 8 years ago and I’ve never been the same since!
And I know the best is yet to come.
Day 16- Love Your Life Challenge, Forgiveness
Music brings people together. It's the only time we are all united.
We hear the same words, dance to the same beat and hear the same music.

Maybe that's why everyone loves it. Is it the freedom or is it the unison or is it that music has the ability to take us back to places with in an instant. It allows us to dream, reminisce and just be.
I totally get why you can heal people through music.
Because behind every person there is really just a child. A creation of what we were exposed to growing up. If you think about your pet peeves or what makes you happy I guarantee you whether you know it or not it relates back to when you were a child.
Sometimes it makes you sad and sometimes it makes you happy and that’s life. It's how we choose to process it and hopefully use it to our advantage.
You know when you see someone your entire life and for that whole time you think they are perfect, they can do no wrong because in your eyes they are perfect.
Then when you get older and wiser and time passes and 'things' happen you realize they aren't perfect and they do make mistakes.
For some stupid reason you feel disappointed in them and you think they have changed.
Then you realize maybe they haven't changed, that you are the one that has changed and grown.
For the first time you are viewing things for how they really are! It's up to you to forgive them within yourself.
They really haven't done anything wrong or different it's who they have always been. We just didn't see it before because we chose not too.
As much as it may have hurt you, that's OK. We live and learn and we move on. It is really only a problem if you don't work through and understand it.
Time is precious. Days go by, then weeks, then years. Until it's gone and as somber as that sounds, it's true. So you may think that you have more important things to do today or tomorrow but that's cop out.
Some people don't get that chance, so for the people that do get that chance it's important we do live, laugh and enjoy life and forgive.

Day 15- Love Your Life Challenge, Intimacy
Cuddles + Intimacy = Love Life, Live Life.
Are you allowing yourself to be loved and intimate with your loved one, friends and family?
Being intimate with someone is the most fulfilling thing you can experience, it’s totally free and it’s up to you to allow yourself to be loved, just for being you! You don’t necessary have to be in a relationship in order to find intimacy. It comes in many shapes and forms. It may be a cuddle, a conversion, a laugh, a kiss or more. You have different levels of intimacy with different people because we all connect in different ways.
Some people are afraid of showing affection, others do it in a more subtle way or some people are very open about it. It doesn’t really matter how you chose to express yourself as long as you do. I always try to live each day as if it’s my last (a bit morbid I know) and some days it’s easier then others. But my point is- I want all the people in my world to know that I love them and why I love them. That’s really important to me.
It is the easiest way to put a smile on your face and the biggest confidence booster! I often tell my partner if I’m upset about something and he will generally go silent and hide, not knowing what to say and I say to him “You don’t even have to SAY anything just give me a cuddle” are you with me sister :)
If you would like to read more about intimacy and how it saves lives go to Urban Smiler for a nice little pick me up.
NOW FOR TODAY’S TASK!

OK so this one may require you to step outside your comfort zone or put somethings aside for a moment. But it will be worth it when you see the difference it makes.
Kiss him now and surprise him later ;-)
For the Couples
• When you kiss him goodbye in the morning KISS him.
• Organize his favorite meal or a nice meal. Buy a beer he likes or a nice wine.
• When he gets home give him his drink, Relaxxxxxxxxxx
• Enjoy a wine together, have a laugh; we really need to do it more. (Laugh that is)
• Tell him to have a shower or do whatever he needs to. Then put the kids to bed or do whatever you need to.
• Once you have done that go and kiss him and you can take it from there!
Think of this as paying it forward! Don’t think too much into it. Just try to relax with it and have a good time and enjoy yourself.
Try not to think “He should be doing this to you or whatever else you may be thinking” Just relax with it and have a laugh.
For all the Singles ladies
Invite a friend you cherish, who is a positive influence in your life around have a chat and a nice meal. Relax and laugh until your belly hurts!
TOMORROW MORE WINNERS!!!

Day 14- Love Your Life Challenge, Make up tips!
Guest post by the ever talented Tanya Guccione

Top 5 make Up Tips we all need to know
1.Your foundation is just that! It's the base to you looking hot! I always recommend Mineral makeup, it's good stuff! Be fussy with what goes on your face...
2. Smokey eye's always look great however if your gonna create a smokey eye go easy on the lippy. If you have sunken eyes or small eyes don't use a dark eyeshadow use a light color to make your beautiful eyes pop out!
# However if your gonna go natural on the eyes go bold on the lips...
3. Use a foundation brush instead of a sponge you save on product and it's more hygienic but most importantly you'll get a flawless finish!
4. Make sure to keep your make up fresh and dewy looking, always choose an illuminating foundation/blush over a matt finish...
5. Make time.... cuz your worth it.... You're 10 minutes away to fabulous! Lippy, blush and some mascara makes all the difference! "Hey! Less is more remember!"

Day 13- Love Your Life Challenge, Vision Board
Vision Board
Everyone has goals, everyone needs goals they may be big they may be small. It doesn’t matter they are yours!
Get some magazines together flick through them. Think about your goals or what is important to you. Cut out images or words that represent you and your goals. Different images mean different things to people as we all interrupt things differently so cut out whatever it is you desire!
For example-
•You want to go on a holiday, so cut out a picture of a beach,
•You want to be happy cut out a picture of someone laughing.
•You may want to lose weight, get a picture of someone exercising.
Get a piece of paper and make a collage. Glue all of you images down on the paper.
Then I want you to put it up on the back of your bedroom closet door where you can look at it everyday even if it’s just for a second.
Sounds crazy? Maybe! But man you feel good once you’ve done it and when you look at it makes you feel good! It gives you a purpose and your goals really do happen.
Do it and let me know how you go.
The image is my vision board this time I left space in the middle so I can add to it whenever I want too. You do whatever works for you!

Day 12- Love Your Life Challenge, Anxiety
This is a Guest Post by the remarkable and inspiring Jade Craven, thank you Jade for sharing your story. You have touched my life and made me a better person for it xxx

How it started
I believe that I’ve always had anxiety. I was very clingy as a child, was selective mute in primary school and social phobic in high school
As soon as I hit puberty, things started to reach an unmanageable level. We all blamed it on hormones. I was always stressed out, thought the world was against me and had difficulty coping.
It didn’t get really severe until I moved out of home at 18. I had just started uni, and had to learn a different set of skills. At the end of my first year, my grandmother was diagnosed with cancer and given months to live. I spent much of this time at mums just helping out during the holidays. I’d often be there just to watch my younger teenage siblings while mum was in hospital.
This placed both my body and mind under a great deal of stress. And, when my nan died, that stress didn’t go away. I wasn’t able to cope with life, or school, and started to worry about everything. This stage lasted for years.
The difference between depression and anxiety
I used to think that anxiety was all mental – just worrying. I used to look down on the illness as a weak persons disease.
I had similar physical symptoms with both anxiety and depression. I had no energy, was incapable of taking care of myself or the house and had really poor cognitive symptoms. I couldn’t concentrate, had difficult remembering things and had trouble speaking.
It was the anxiety symptoms that were the worst. My brain just couldn’t process information and couldn’t handle loud noises or sudden movement. That meant that I was always on edge and out of breath. If it was too overwhelming, I’d dissociate. This is a symptom where your brain shuts down for a period of time.
My body would feel like it was on fire. If I didn’t handle the symptoms correctly, I’d have panic attacks. If I was really stressed, I’d hear voices. This lasted for about a year and was a really difficult time.
I actually used to look forward to my depressive episodes. My body would relax so much that I was able to sleep. I was lethargic, but that was ok because my muscles weren’t tingling. Eventually, the depression would get so bad I’d be suicidal and crying all the time, but I didn’t mind because it gave my body a break from the constant tension.
In many cases, these illnesses coexist and it can be hard to tell them apart. I realized that they are very different and require different techniques to manage
The Challenges
My disorder presented me with a lot of challenges that made everyday living difficult.
o I didn’t have the energy to maintain my appearance, so I often looked frumpy. This really impacted on my conference.
o I was rarely well enough to interact with friends and family so I was convinced they all hated me
o I was on a really low income and rarely had the money to treat myself
o I was petrified every time I left the house.
o I had poor concentration and lost my creativity. I lost touch with my hobbies and started thinking I’d lost my personality.
I had to change but I didn’t know how
I’m not sure what pulled me through. All I knew was that I didn’t want to die so I just kept on struggling through every day.
And it was a struggle. I had very little quality of life and constantly felt horrible both physically and mentally. It got worse until I sunk into a really deep depression.
This is something I’ve never told anyone. I was suicidal and couldn’t find a logical way to talk myself out of it. Normally, I could give myself a reason that would allow me to persevere with the episode. I told myself that I’d pretend that I can’t fail and just give everything a go. I’d seek medical help and would give my blog everything I had.
Things started getting better
I turned my life around by seeking treatment. 6 months ago, I was crying in my doctors office and begging to be put on medication. She initial refused, because I had stopped taking other meds due to the side effects.
I decided that I wouldn’t let my prejudices get in the way and would take my meds, despite the reported side effects, and seek counselling. And initially, things got worse. I had bad side effects for the first month.
Then the symptoms started to go away. I was able to breath and think clearly again. I was able to process the ideas my counsellor was giving me. I was able to put more time in my blog and started reconnecting with my old hobbies.
How I started loving myself again.
Being able to love my life was one of the hardest things I’ve had to do. Part of anxiety is the constant negative self talk. I was convinced that I’d never achieve something and didn’t know how to change the mindset. There were a number of steps that I took that made the process easier:
o I got a haircut. This was really simple but it made such a difference to my confidence. I noticed afterwards that I didn’t hate my appearance as much and was more outgoing
o I slowly introduced myself to my old hobbies. This was hard, as I still feel I’ve lost a lot of my creativity, but it makes me so happy to go to a musical or do a bushwalk. Moments like that make the constant struggle worth it.
o I started chucking out my old clothing and buying clothes that fit my body shape. This was a great confidence booster. My pants only cost $40 from Target but did wonders.
o I stopped finding excuses when my blog friends asked to catch up. Now I’ve met so many amazing people.
I wont say this process has been easy. I’m now very happy with my life and I still think I’m a worthless piece of shit. Its hard trying to improve things but the Love Your Life challenge is brilliant for those needing help to take their first step.

Day 11- Love Your Life Challenge, Validate
Validate your feelings
How many times have you heard or have you said “It's no big deal, there are people that are worse off then me” or something like it?

Everyone has stuff and just because there is someone worse off then you (and then always will be) doesn’t mean you are not entitled TO BE and feel.
Validate your feelings!
You have a right to be pissed off! Guilt free and it is more then OK.
Yeah, other people may have it tougher and they may be worse off but right here right now if you are happy, sad, frustrated, angry that is OK.
WHY?
Because once you get it out there you can move on, no matter how big or how small it may be negative "stuff" festers and that is where it begins. The essential part is MOVING ON. You have a right to be.
If your Partner or whoever else does not acknowledge how you are feeling then make them understand. Even within yourself, by validating your own feelings within yourself you are allowing yourself the freedom to be and think and therefore move on. Voice and move on and laugh about how silly it was later!
When you let things fester and a small problem will become big problem if it isn’t dealt with straight away. So validate! If the significant other respects you they will understand and support you and your feelings.
Look at things and people for how they are, are you pretending or do you know a pretender?
Stepford wives are 2 things
1.They are pretending because they don’t want to deal with their ‘stuff’ or maybe their stuff just hasn’t happened yet. But 9 times out of 10 I will say they are pretending because they have chosen that material things are more important then actually dealing with their ‘stuff’. However it’s just a smoke screen because you and I both know that happiness comes from within that is true success.
2.They can have their perfect make up, their perfect hair, their perfect bodies, their perfect houses and drive their perfect cars but at least you and I are keeping it real sister! When is the last time you think they let their hair down had a true belly laugh and laughed out loud because it was so funny!
Respect yourself! We feel for a reason so validate and move on.
This week's Prizes, brace yourself!
* Jewelery from the awesome Cherry Mag
* The coolest hamper ever by Hamperific
* A colour analysis valued at $330 by best Image Consultant of all time Imogen Lamport
* Feel like the star you are with a Photo Shoot and prints at MJPhotography valued at $540

Day 10- Love Your Life Challenge, Eyebrows...
PERFECT EYEBROW SHAPE
Ahhhhh the answer to that million $ question!

This small thing can TRANSFORM your entire face! I kid you not. Where to start:
The perfect OR the most suitable OR the best brow shape is your natural one.
•Brush your eyebrows so they are in the same direction.
•Your eyebrows have 3 main points-
1.Inner eye should match up with the beginning of your eyebrow.
2.Your pupil is to be in line with the highest point of your eyebrow i.e. the arch
3.Your eyebrow needs to finish so it’s in line with your outer eye.
•You may want to draw a line to outline what you need to take off. But basically everything that goes outside of the 3 points above you need to take off!
PLEASE NO QUESTION MARK ? EYEBROWS! You know when you have that chuck at the inner eye you want to take that inner corner OUT. So you have a nice smooth angle.
Tips-
•If you have thick eyebrows. Don’t make them super thin you’ll look ridiculous when they are growing back.
•Don’t pluck the top of your eyebrows you still want them to look natural, so don’t go there unless you know actually what you are doing.
•If you have thin eyebrows you may need to use an eyebrow pencil or even an eye shadow to make them look thicker. If they are too thin they won’t complement your face. You want them to help shape your face.
•Use the tip of the tweezers and pull in the direction of your hair growth. You can also use your fingers to stretch the skin so you can see each hair easier.
•If you aren’t very good at seeing shapes then go to a professional then you can maintain yourself at home.
A small thing that makes you look totally different! GO GIRL.
OK! So we are 10 days in and how are you feeling?
•Are you following your ‘To Do’ list
•Have you written down everything that has annoyed you or made you angry
•Have you worn your sexy lingerie set yet
•Brows………. Off you go there is no time like the present.
In the final 2 weeks I have THE BEST PRIZES TO GIVEAWAY! So keep those comments coming.

Day 9- Love Your Life Challenge, Hair!!!
Guest Post- Roxanne Jowett-Hall, Creative Director Zucci Hairdressing
Fringes are the hottest things for spring summer 09 BUT you have to know how to style them.
Here is an example of what could happen to you:

You go to your salon and you show your stylist a picture of your favorite celebrity or model with the perfect fringe that you would love. Your hairdresser agrees that it will look amazing on you, then cuts and styles it…. and…. you walk out of the salon feeling amazing.
Two days latter you wash your hair, you go to blow wave your fringe and you realize you have no idea how to recreate the look yourself, or even better you are one of the lucky ones, you have a cowlick and your hair is sticking straight out from your head.
Is this you?
Well then…
You will need
1x Paddle Brush (flat brush) the best one I have ever used is the AVEDA Paddle Brush $49.95.
1x Round brush or straightening irons (GHD’s are the best on the market, a very good investment).
1x A Styling Product, I recommend AVEDA Phomollient $29.95, it will give you a little bit of lift and give you control of your hair.
1x A LIGHT (as in not rock hard) Hair Spray, I love AVEDA’s Air Control $39.95
1x Hairdryer.

Step 1.
Start with a wet fringe that has been towel dried
Step 2.
Apply a small amount of product in the fringe; make sure you distribute it evenly. If our using AVEDA Phemollient then half a pump would be perfect just for the fringe area.
Step 3.
Brush your fringe forward, it will make it easy to blow wave.
Step 4.
Using the hairdryer and the brush, start drying your fringe down and to the left for 3 seconds……. Then brush it down onto your face for 3 seconds…… Then down and to the right for 3 seconds…. and forward onto your face for 3 seconds. Continue to go back and forth until ALL the hair in the fringe is dry.
(If you have a cowlick you can be quite aggressive with the brushing so that you encourage your cowlick to sit flat and not wherever it wants to go.)
The reason you use this back and forth motion is so you dry your hair with no particular part, it can sit anywhere you want it to go, forward or to the side.
Step 5.
Once you have done this, take your fringe in one big section and bring it out in front of you (so it sits like a veranda to your eyes) use your round brush or straightening irons so create a small amount of bend to the very ends of the fringe (this will ensure the fringe sits well). Then drop the fringe down.
Step 6.
Style the rest of the hair to reflect the look you would like to go for. (It doesn’t matter if your fringe gets disturbed through out this process because you will be able to put it back into place when you have finished drying all the hair)
Step 7.
Finish with your light hairspray, especially on the fringe area. Fringes look best when they move so don’t get too carried away with the spray.
And there you have it, you can wear your fringe wherever you want it and even better, your cowlick should be sitting flatter and it shouldn’t take more than 10 minutes….
Remember the more you do this styling technique the better you become… just like anything practice makes perfect…
If you would like a fringe for this spring summer, the hottest ones to have are forward, sweeping or even parted in the middle.
Forward fringes should be long (touching the eye lashes) heavy, straight across with a little bit of curve on the sides and very soft on the ends
Sweeping or middle parted fringes again should be heavy but very soft on the ends so they seamlessly blend into the rest of the haircut.
But always take your stylist opinion on what will look the best for you;
Always match your fringe to the shape of your face.

Day 7- Love Your Life Challenge, Depression
Guest Post- Amanda and her story on Post Natal Depression
I was asked to other day “What is depression like?” by someone clearly interested, but with no experience of it.
How do you explain depression? It’s so different for each individual, and my experience is my own experience, based on, well, my own experiences. My particular life stage, too, is (was back then) similar to some, but different to many.
In hindsight, I guess I ‘suffered’ depression during my teens and early twenties. But my conscious experience of it was during my first pregnancy and for the first 18 months or so of my son’s life. I’ve had moments since, but it is this period that is most pertinent to me.
To explain it to someone who has no experience of it, the simplest explanation is to liken it to the Dementors in the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. They’re described as having the ability to suck “all the happiness and hope out of the world” and leaving you feeling like you “will never be cheerful again”.
Only with the Dementors, everyone feels the same. The world goes black and dark and cold. The world suits your mood and your feelings and your thoughts. You feel safe in your despair.
Depression leaves you feeling alone and unsafe. Your cold, dark black world is not matched by the smiling faces of your family and friends telling you how gorgeous/clever/funny your baby is. Nor by the intensely blue sky and radiant sunshine. Your cold, dark, black world sits, unaccompanied, in a warm, bright, cheerful place.
It doesn’t fit.
My understanding of depression at the time was that it was characterised by a powerful sadness.
I didn’t feel sad.
I felt frustrated. Extremely, uncontrollably frustrated.
I’d had a non-textbook birth, a ‘natural’ labour ending in an emergency caesarean. Thus commenced my doubts about my abilities to be a good mother. Or any sort of mother at all. I hadn’t “given birth” to him, so how could I be his mother?
To compensate, I read all the books. I had to do this right, to be the best mother I could be. I had to do it by the book; to get everything right.
I also had a non-textbook baby. He slept through from a week old. I had no breastfeeding issues. He didn’t need to be held close to me and was happy lying on the floor, or sleeping in his cot.
The result of this was the lack of understanding from those around me. What could I possibly have to be worried/concerned/sad/frustrated/angry about? At least I had a “good baby”.
My frustration compounded, I had no release for my anger or angst. I had no one to turn to, no help or support from relatives, and an amazing husband who could do nothing right. Because I wouldn’t let him. I found fault with everything he did, try as he might.
The darkness that set over me, the bleakness and blackness was not sadness or despair. My thoughts were consumed with death. Mostly my own. Sometimes others.
I would become frightened that people would die. Just drop dead. The phone would ring, and when I answered I was overwhelmed with visions of the person on the other end dying. Sometimes just … dying. Other times in horrific, bloody accidents. Or illnesses.
Mostly, my world was overwhelmed by how I could stop my life. My drive out to uni, along a freeway, consisted of checking out every pole, every tree, every truck. I wondered if I should drive in front of one and brake, or turn into the path of another.
Preparing meals gave me something to focus on, to control. It was monotonous, yet purposeful. And flooded with visions of the knife sliding the length of my forearm and the blood running down my arm as I continued to slice the carrots.
My analytic mind, perhaps in an attempt to gain any sense of something tangible, would attempt to calculate how long before I collapsed, died, someone found me. Would they find me before I died? And how would they react.
Long, warm baths, infused with determining how long I would need to hold my head under before I drowned, and whether my body, in an attempt to survive, would force me back up, or if my mind would override this instinct were a regular occurrence.
Under this blackness, underlying these thoughts and feelings, I had retained, although I didn’t know it, an ability to see the funny in all situations. I did see a GP who diagnosed me, at 10 months post partum, with depression. I’d gone for a routine pap smear, and burst into tears. She immediately had me referred to a psychologist, where I contemplated a frivolous discussion about my stressful life, but when she came back to me, coffee in hand, I confessed.
I was prescribed anti-depressants and weekly counselling. The combination dulled the black; the suicidal thoughts stopped, and I found humor in my life again. I could see my inability to muddle together a cup of instant coffee was no reflection on my ability to parent. My birthing experience had also shown me that things happen, and everyone has their own story, experiences and beliefs. None of them are wrong, they just are.
A miscarriage, another baby boy, a degree, a business and yet another baby boy later, I still can’t manage some mornings to make a proper coffee, but I can laugh at it. Just as I can laugh at the ridiculousness of the situations I sometimes find myself in.
The Dementors do attempt a visit sometimes, but Mad Cow (so named by my husband) has the ability to laugh them off.
My motto: If you don’t laugh, you’ll probably slit your wrists.
It’s true for some, and was for me. However, as dark and humorless as those times were, I am thankful for them, because they have made me a more resourceful, compassionate and empowering person. Not just to my family, but to many.
If you are feeling anything like this please see your G.P or go to
Beyond Blue.
If you feel like you just want to have a Wah Wah and not get judged then I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you go to Real Mums. It's a place you can go and be free to talk about whatever you want too. Have a whine about your kids or whoever, you don't have to feel like your are a shit parent because you let your kids sit in front of a TV or you don't play with them enough.
YOU'RE REAL AND YOU'RE YOU AND THAT'S OK!

Day 6- Love Your Life Challenge, Eating!
Make the decision to eat healthier. What is your weak spot? It may be a food you eat OR it may be organizing what you eat OR your portion size.
Here is your task-
Plan your meals, for 3 reasons
•You will save time and energy trying to think of what you are cooking.
•You will save money because you are eliminating those drop in/last minute grocery shops.
•You will eat healthier so then you will feel better.
Here are some tips for you-
•Focus in your main meal, presumably dinner.
•Decide what you would like to eat in a week fish, chicken, red meat etc
•Think about how you cook it opt for grilling opposed to frying
•Try to limit “packet foods” use fresh herbs instead.
•So it may be something like this-
Monday- Fish
Tuesday- Chicken
Wednesday- Steak
Thursday- Fish
Friday- Chicken
Then with it you just have to choose what you want with it like salad, veggies, cous cous, rice whatever….
Give yourself a “free day” to eat whatever you want too.
Lunch-
I find the best and quickest lunches are salad or soup. I try to think of things other then sandwiches, soup is my fav I make a big batch for the week.
HOT TIP- I am shocking for portion, I tend to eat very little during the day and eat a big meal for dinner. What I have done to stop this is have scheduled snacks in between like yogurt, corn thins with cottage cheese on them, fruit, nuts and have a smaller meal at night. Healthy snacks NOT CRAP! Maybe you can bake healthy muffins?
HOTTEST TIP- If you snack after dinner try brushing your teeth after dinner it will stop that urge from eating!
You may want to read Eating Healthy Is Easy or Urban Smiler has some good tips as well!
