Reflection on Perfect Parenting

I wrote a post about Reflection & Your Business Mindset but what triggered my thoughts was a discussion we had about Bad Mothers Club and guilt free parenting.

I thought why do we have so much guilt when it comes to being a parent or more specially a Mum?

Upon reflection here is what I think-

1. We hear things like-
a, My kids never had a dummy
b, I only used cloth nappies
c, A good smack never hurt anyone
d, My kids were toilet by the age of 2

So society judges us as to what we 'should' be doing, but do you what?

Whoever has already been through that period of your life that you are experiencing. They think they are perfect, that they were in fact the perfect parent. They forget that sometimes they did feel like

* You were going insane
* You couldn't be bothered to paint/paste or play with your child
* You did just long for some time to yourself
* You did sometimes just lock yourself in room and cry
* You did lose your temper
* You couldn't be bothered cooking a meal
* You did feel alone

2. Guilt by perfection-
When I'm a Mum I'll never...
* I'll only breastfeed
* I'll demand respect
* I'll be so much fun
* I'll be so patient
* I'll always listen
* I'll always cook healthy meals
* I'll never put my child in daycare
* Should I have put my child in daycare
* I'll spend heaps of time with my children

Oh I know I know "I love my kids but...." we know you love your kids but sometimes you wonder-

Where did my life go?
What day is it again?
Sleep what's that?
Me, How am I? Why I don't know no one ever asks.

Reality Is- You are the core of your family, you are what keeps it together, the drop off, the pick up, the chef, the cleaner, the organiser, the breadwinner, the motivator, the counsellor, the partner, the lover, the friend, the disciplinary, the shopper, the bill payer, the money saver and time saver.

So you what! You're not perfect and you'll never be perfect and whoever says they are are full of BS. But what you are is amazing to do what you do and give the way you give, you are nothing short of an inspiration. But give to yourself allow time to yourself just to be....

Upon reflection how do you feel?

Update on Bra Review- Freya Deco

I recently did a bra review on Freya Deco moulded plunge bra. Now because I am so dedicated about being honest with you I need to bring you this update.

I purchased my Freya Deco and I am still very fond of it, however I need to say this-

I wore my new plunge bra with a plunge top and well my GG Cup breasts slowly made their way into the middle. The shape and lift still looked good however they looked absolutely enormous, I kid you not.

So I will say to you I still recommend this bra however I wouldn't say it's an everyday bra unless you wear a singlet over the top to cover your girls, unless of course you want them out there. If you work at a desk or in an office then it would be fine. However if you are active then you may want to think twice about wearing the plunge bra with a plunge top.

I'm afraid I just shocked the world, with my my Um assets?

Guest post by the fabulously saucy Emma Merkas

What’s the point of all this saucy lingerie if you can’t show it off every now and then?

The next time you’re planning a date with your sweetie, take it inside with one of these cheeky date ideas and strip down to your underwear for a fun, intimate date night for two.

1. Play Strip Poker
The perfect excuse to get you both down to your bare essentials, set yourselves up with a deck of cards and use your clothing as your stakes.

2. Cook in Your Undies
Get heated in the kitchen in the sexiest way possible! Prepare a menu together laden with aphrodisiacs like oysters, asparagus, smoked salmon, champagne, strawberries and chocolate.

3. Play a Game of Nookii

This playful board game is made just for two and will have you panting in no time as you make your way through your Mmm, Ooh and Aah sexy cards.

4. Treat Your Sweetie to a Massage
Underwear is optional for this of course, but we suggest you start with it on and see what happens from there.

Reflection & Your Business Mindset

Reflection is a beautiful thing; it allows us to be accountable, to improve and to learn.
No matter how old we are we always learn, I heard a classic statement yesterday “I have been in this business for 30 years and it’s never been this bad, oh I know some businesses do well BUT in this area businesses are closing, rent is high and so on….

While this might be true businesses do close down everywhere that has and will never change as sad as it is. However it is not location specific.
Businesses do very well however it’s not the business it’s the people and the product inside it.
Rent can be a killer however if you’ve been there for 30 years it didn’t just go up over night.

My clientele are older people because young people don’t spend money… what they don’t have breasts? But more to the point; why is everything in your store tailored to young people if they are not your niche?

It’s your mindset and the action you choose to take

1. If you have a negative mind then you will not do well in business.

2. Your business is constantly evolving if you are not evolving with it you will sink faster then the titanic.

3. Times change, people change and it is crucial you reassess your business model to remain an industry leader.

4. We have to educate our customers and that is our responsibility and ours solely if our customers do not understand it is not their fault it is ours for not doing our job.

5. Choose your niche not because you think it’s where the money is but because you love those people. If you love those people you will love doing your job and your customers will love you for it and therefore spend money to support you.

6. If you are listening to the wrong advice or negative advice it’s because they don’t get it, only seek advice of people who have been there and understand.

7. If you have been complaining about-
• The government
• It’s the global financial crisis,
• It’s my area,
• It’s the clientele
• It’s my overheads

Sorry to disappoint but IT IS YOU! Not any of the above, yes some things effect business however it is much easier to blame others then to be accountable which is why the majority of people will not get this because it is much harder to be accountable and to change then what it is to sit back and whine about how bad your life is…

But I know what I’d prefer! How about you are you ready for action, your choice.
